Have you ever found yourself stuck in a toilet seat?

I was giving Cohen a bath a couple of nights ago. I was really distracted because Eli was acting fussy, and I was trying to calm him down. I was trying to stay close to Cohen, but walk and bounce with Eli.

I left the room for only a few moments before I heard a cry for help. "Help Mommy!" " I need help!!" I walked in the bathroom to find Cohen stuck in his toddler toilet seat. I started laughing so hard!! Cohen did not find it as funny. He was also not very happy with me when I left to go find the camera. However, I just could not resist. After a few photos I helped him out of the seat, by prying it off his head. It scraped his ears and head. I am pretty sure he learned a good lesson. :)

An Ode to Deb...

This post is dedicated to my fabulous, talented, and beautiful friend Deb. (see photo below!! :)) I called Deb 3 months ago and asked if she could come and help take care of Cohen, and myself after I delivered the baby. She agreed, but did not know what she was getting into.

I am sure that she expected a short stay to help me get back on my feet, but I had other things in mind. She truly understood, when I emailed her, her flight itinerary. She was here for nearly 3 weeks.

She made gourmet dinners and desserts. She cleaned, did laundry, baby sat Cohen, and pampered me--the new mom. She was so helpful and I loved having her here. She also talked me down off the hormonal ledge I frequently found myself on during those first few weeks!! Thank you Deb and McCall.

Eli Chase Hawkes has arrived...

Baby boy Hawkes #2 has arrived. He was born on February 5th, which was also Fat Tuesday and Super Tuesday this year! Our day started at the hospital at around 8:00am. They started me on the pit drip and gradually increased the amount until I was ready to push at 2:45pm. Eli was delivered in two pushes!! There was a short moment of panic for me when they told me he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. They cut the cord and suctioned his airway. A huge relief came when I heard his sweet new baby cry.

Eli weighed 8 lbs and is 19 inches in length. When Marsh and I got our first good look at him, be both said the he looks a lot like Cohen. So, I guess we have a brand. :)

Cohen is so excited to have a baby brother. He loves to give him kisses all over his face and forehead. Since we have been home, Cohen wakes up in the morning and immediately starts asking to see his, "mya-bebe."
